It Shall Be Well

Adeoye Adegbola is a Nigerian-American designer and entrepreneur from Queens, New York. He is the oldest of three brothers, a husband, and a proud new father. His clothing brand, Revolution of a Monarch Clothing (R.o.A.M.), reflects the same roles he carries in real life: responsibility, growth, and leadership.

Revolution of a Monarch is a lifestyle brand built to live alongside everyday routines. The clothing
is meant to represent people who are moving through life with purpose. Adeoye describes it as a companion for those in the middle of their own personal revolution. People who are working toward their goals day by day, while carrying other responsibilities.

Fashion became important to Adeoye at a very young age. His mother made sure her children were always well dressed and understood that how you show up matters. Presentation was never an
afterthought in their home.

A moment that really stuck with him came in fifth grade, when his mother returned from Europe with a pair of Moschino Jeans. It was more than just clothing. It was his first real glimpse of
fashion as culture, status, and expression all at once. It shifted how he viewed clothing and
what they could represent.

Adeoye was discovering an exciting aspect of fashion. The idea that it could say so much, without a single word became exciting to him. He learned that it could also reflect where someone has been, while quietly signaling where they are headed. “Clothing can carry emotion, memory, and intention”, says Adeoye.

These inspirations led him to create Revolution of a Monarch. He wanted his brand to speak to people who are building their own path. People who are fighting through challenges while
working toward their own version of a kingdom.

Along his journey, music, New York City life, and African culture were the foundations that shaped Adeoye’s work. Growing up in a strong Nigerian community influenced how he sees creativity, identity, and self-expression. He pulls from those roots, using memory and experience to explore different sides of himself.

When describing  his creative process, he details “each design begins with personal growth, resilience, history, and discipline.” He approaches every piece by asking what it stands for and what it communicates in real life.

Adeoye wants the people who wear the brand to feel seen, confident, and empowered. Wearing R.o.A.M. should feel like a reminder of growth and responsibility. The most rewarding part of running the brand for him is seeing that message land. When someone says the clothing reflects where they are in life or helps them keep moving forward, that connection matters.

Over time, Revolution of a Monarch has matured through lived experience. The brand now feels clearer, more focused, and more honest about the journey.

Adeoye says he’s been thinking about returning to fashion shows after time away. To him, shows
demand awareness, flexibility, and courage. They force designers to revisit work, push past comfort zones, and stand out in crowded spaces.

When asked how success looks for his brand, he replied,

“Success looks like alignment. It’s waking up knowing that my work reflects my values, serves my community, and creates space for others to see themselves as capable of more. Success isn’t just profit, It’s sustainability, impact, and legacy.”

Balancing creativity, sustainability, marketing, and commerce is part of the brand’s next
chapter. These pillars will guide its future as it continues to evolve.

Beyond the brand, he is involved in several other ventures and finds that slowing down on purpose is important. He leans on grounding routines, prayer, and reflection and believes rest is part of the work for long-term growth.

Looking back, Adeoye sees Revolution of a Monarch as a mirror. Through building the brand, he learned about himself creatively, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. He sees the rise of Black male designers who created their own path without traditional systems and finds that deeply encouraging.

His message is clear. Revolution of a Monarch is for anyone willing to take on the work of becoming who they are meant to be.
