Elle Boogie Denim

Hi Lanee, tell us a bit about yourself.
Absolutely! I’m a lifestyle urban model, designer, photographer, and creative consultant passionate about bringing bold visions to life. With a keen eye for style and detail, I blend street-inspired aesthetics with innovative design—both in front of and behind the camera. Whether curating looks, capturing moments, or elevating brands, I thrive on creativity and collaboration in every project. With all of these skills and experience I decided to start my own business called Boogie Down Productions.

What does success look like for Boogie Down Productions?
Success to me is people gaining personal recommendations of my services and testimonials of my work that showcase my passion and dedication for helping others.

What do you love the most about fashion?
EVERYTHING! But mostly the creative expression for and from African Americans.

Tell us about modeling, what do you love the most about it?
I got into modeling because I love fashion, dressing up and I shine when in front of the camera. I love the beauty and the art of being a woman. Over time it has helped to build my confidence.

What did you realize that modeling wasn’t just about being seen, but about expressing your story?
When I started seeing engagement in my art outside of social media. People come up to me recognizing me from my art or my work giving me my flowers. When I started getting opportunities from my professionalism not my face or body.

How do you work with photographers, stylists, creatives, and maintain your own vision?
It is a dynamic interactive process that shapes the final outcome of a shoot. The creative sets the overall vision and concept, the photographer offers technical input and suggests lighting, set up and scouts locations, the stylist must ensure the wardrobe aligns with the concept. They must be in sync and communicate the idea cohesively.

“The Camera does NOT lie!”

What advice would you give to aspiring Models and anything they should look out for?
Know the type of model you are, define it to yourself. Know that every product you see needs a model. Find your lane and dominate it. If you are looking to get rich, stop modeling right now, this is a hustle and most models are under paid despite their skills. Ask yourself, am I a model or an influencer? Because influence is not the same as being a model. Just because you’re a pretty girl doesn’t mean you can or should model. Modeling is about projecting confidence and the camera does not lie. You either have it or you don’t. Take care of your body, it is your business card. Join a gym, do yoga, drink water, maintain physical health. Always dress like a model! You never know who you may run into or what rooms you may be in. Always be networking modeling is about relationships and referrals. If you have no personality you’re not getting bookings.

That’s great advice. So, how does your business help models, photographers and others creatives in the industry?
I have helped models define the type of model they want to be, I have helped photographers have a sharper eye on set to reduce editing time, and I have created opportunities to educate and pay models. We educate models on their impact and how to wield it to ensure paid opportunities.

OK, and lastly, tell us about a recent accomplishment, goal or milestone.
I was the back stage manager for one of the most successful urban fashion shows for Chicago Fashion Week
